Reality vs FictionThe idea of a coma scares me. Perhaps more so than death. Trapped in one's body, unable to move a muscle, I imagine it to be similar to sleep paralysis. You can hear and sense everything around you but you can't respond.
It is probably not like this at all. When you become comatose, your brain ceases to function. You breath and your heart beats and your body survives, if only barely and only at first, but there is no mental activity. It is not like dreaming. It would probably be more akin to fainting. Suicide and Cherry Blossoms I lived in Japan for a year and a half and during that time, I never once witnessed a train suicide first hand. For most people, they would be grateful for the absence of the experience. For me, it was a bitter reminder of how unlucky I was. That there was at least one incident at my own home station while I was at work, which was pretty unfair. That this, in turn, delayed the trains and kept me from returning home by at least an hour was just the icing on the cake. This week's "story" is brought to you by procrastination and final projects.

So far, I've finished work for two out of three classes. the only thing I have left to do is make an alternate version of the picture I uploaded. I need to take the three elements of the picture and re-organize them...and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Any ideas would be happily considered at this point. It's not due until Thursday, at least.

Tomorrow I'm getting my hair dyed in preperation for Adam arriving and the wedding. I'm so excited. I love getting my hair dyed. This week should be really easy in regards to classes, since all I have to do, for the most part, is show up, turn in stuff, and leave. And then Adam arrives on Saturday night.

I was originally going to write about things Japanese people say about America that I hate and things that Americans say about Japan that I hate, but in the end, I went with the tried and true topic of train suicide. I'll be writing, or at least trying to write, one more story for this up coming week but then I'll be going on temporary hiatus while Adam is visiting. I'll probably re-upgrade my art account following that then, since it doesn't make sense to do anything if I'm not even going to be using the account that much.

In other news, I love Taking Back Sunday. And my sister bought us a brand new Rock Band guitar. I love that, too.
